ARTIST STATEMENT

My work explores the layered terrain of memory, personal history, and the ephemeral nature of time. Each painting acts as both a map and a meditation — a visual record of inner landscapes shaped by experience, spiritual inquiry, and the unseen vibrations that connect us all.

Working in large-scale abstraction, I begin with constraints — limited palettes, specific materials — then allow spontaneity, intuition, and chance to guide my process. The resulting works are both containers and portals: structured yet expansive, rooted yet transcendent.

Poetry and language quietly inform my practice. Though no text appears in the work itself, the rhythm of words, the shape of silence, and the tension between presence and absence all find their way into the paint.

The Life Maps series, created over the last three years, reflects nine key periods of my life, with two imagined points in the future. Inspired in part by Hilma af Klint’s spiritual mappings, these works are personal yet universal — invitations for viewers to find their own stories, their own paths, within the layers.

I’m not interested in art as commodity, nor in art as decoration. My aim is for these paintings to be held close, cherished, and to live with collectors like family — offering presence, wonder, and moments of awakening.
